We want to start with a huge thank you to every one of you. When we launched OpenRP, we did so without any marketing or advertising. To see a passionate community form and a steady flow of subscribers join us, even in these early stages, has been incredibly rewarding. Thank you for supporting us.

Our mission is to bring better roleplay to everyone. A key part of that is building exciting new chat features you've been asking for - like group chats and character-initiated conversations.

As we build these more complex features, we're running into a new challenge. Many of these features require multiple, costly LLM calls "under the hood" to work. To be transparent, a single subscription price makes it difficult to offer these powerful-but-expensive tools fairly and sustainably.

We think it's better to let you decide which features and models you want to use, and to give you an upfront idea of how much they cost. To do this, we are excited to announce we will be rolling out a new credit system in the coming weeks.

How Diamonds and Plus subscription will work

This new system is built around a new platform currency called Diamonds.

All chat models will be available for you to choose from.
The most powerful premium models will cost a certain amount of Diamonds for each message.
Our standard models will remain free to use.
Diamonds can be purchased in packages at any time, separate from a subscription.

The new Plus benefits

The Plus subscription will continue to be the best way to get the most out of OpenRP. We're redesigning it to provide a ton of value in this new system.

Going forward, Plus subscribers will receive:

An upfront bundle of Diamonds when you subscribe and with every renewal.
A daily sign-in bonus for an extra stash of Diamonds.
Advanced Chat Controls: Get fine-grained control over your chat, including context length and memory generation frequency.
All existing benefits, such as private worlds.

To our existing Plus subscribers

We are incredibly grateful to you, our earliest paying supporters. You've believed in this platform from the start, and we want to make this transition as generous as possible for you.

As a special thank you, we will be gifting an entire month's worth of Diamonds to all active Plus subscribers when this new system goes live.

The road ahead

We believe in giving you, our users, the best tools and the most control for your roleplay. This change is our new approach to transparency. Going forward, you will know exactly what you are spending on, instead of paying a flat fee for features you may not (or didn't even know) you were using.

We are still adjusting the final pricing and putting the finishing touches on the UI. We expect to roll out this change within the coming weeks and will make another post when we have all the details available, including the official date, final pricing, and the new Diamond package options.
