It's finally here! The OpenRP Diamond system will arrive this weekend on December 12!

As promised in our last update, we are back to share the details of the new credit system we are building! The new system is built with long-term sustainability in mind, so we can continue to bring more features to everyone. To that end, I'd like to be completely transparent about how the new system will work.

We are introducing a new currency for the platform called Diamonds, with an approximate value of 1000 Diamonds = $1.00 USD. Each time an AI model produces an output, Diamonds will be consumed at a rate according to the price of that model. For example, Claude Opus 4.5 costs $5/M input tokens and $25/M output tokens, so a typical chat message (with 4000 input tokens and 1000 output tokens) will cost 45 Diamonds. Diamonds are refunded if a message failed to generated.

Once the changes are live, you may access the (previously) premium models even without being a Plus subscriber. We are proposing the following four bundles, purchasable through the user menu.

1,200 Diamonds — $1.99
7,200 Diamonds — $9.99
40,000 Diamonds — $49.99
90,000 Diamonds — $99.99

As you may have noticed, these prices are higher than the actual value from the Diamonds. This is because we need to leave some margin for payment processing fees, dispute fees, taxes, and keeping the servers running.

As our dedication of bringing better AI roleplay for all, we will continue to offer several older models for free, so you can continue to enjoy chatting without worrying about Diamonds.

The upgraded Plus subscription

We designed the new Plus subscription to give active roleplayers the best bang for their buck. Whether you are on a Weekly or Monthly plan, being a subscriber is going to be the most efficient way to gather Diamonds and control your experience.

1. Upfront Diamonds & Daily Bonuses

Plus subscribers get a large drop of Diamonds every time they subscribe or renew, plus a daily bonus:

Weekly ($3.99): You get 1,600 Diamonds upfront every week, plus 150 Diamonds for every daily sign-in, for a total of 2650 Diamonds.
Monthly ($9.99): You get 5,000 Diamonds upfront every month, plus 150 Diamonds for every daily sign-in, for a total of 9500 Diamonds.

2. Bonus Diamond from packages

Plus subscribers receive 5% extra Diamonds on all bundle purchases from the store.

3. Extensive chat control

We are planning to roll out extensive chat control for Plus subscribers, starting with the context length limit. Plus subscribers can now define exactly how much context is sent to the AI model. Want to save Diamonds? Set a shorter limit for quick conversations. Want deep immersion? Increase the limit to send all 50 pages of your conversation history to the model. You are in the driver's seat.

For our existing subscribers: the transition gift

As we mentioned in our November announcement, we are incredibly grateful for our early adopters. We want your transition to this system to be seamless and generous.

When the system launches later this week, all active existing subscribers will receive a massive one-time Diamond drop:

Existing Monthly Subscribers will receive 20,000 Diamonds.
Existing Weekly Subscribers will receive 5,000 Diamonds.

Going forward

We have so many features we are excite to build, like group chats and a character behavior visual editor. This system paves the way for these exciting updates we have in the pipeline for 2026. We will be posting sneak peeks at these when we have more to show, so stay tuned!
